Parent Information Night

Lassiter High School’s Administration would like to invite parents of all grade levels to a brand new parent information night presented by Dr. Holly Middleton, a licensed clinical psychologist.

  • Who: All grade level parents
  • Topic: How to Be an Engaged Parent in a Complicated World
  • Date: Monday, November 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lassiter Concert Hall

Teenagers and children in today’s world experience many pressures from school, home, and the media. Trying to manage expectations sometimes means losing sight of what it means to be happy. Parents can help by:

  • Improving communication with their child
  • Teaching what it means to work and be responsible
  • Encouraging healthy emotional management
  • Discovering what their child values
  • Choosing to be their champion and recognizing when it all is too much

Join us as we explore how parents can help their children find success and happiness by fostering confidence, calm, and courage in the face of a complicated world.

Success 1600 Princeton Review - SAT Prep Meeting

Do you need help raising your SAT Scores? The Cobb Schools Foundation and the Cobb County School District have partnered to create Success 1600! Lassiter High School is participating in Success 1600, which provides SAT preparation by the Princeton Review to high school juniors. (Families only need to pay $25 for the course!) The SAT course consists of 24 hours of instruction and three full-length diagnostic tests. The regular course price is $999!

We require interested families attend the Success 1600 meeting on November 27 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lassiter Concert Hall to participate in the program. Although we require parents attend the meeting, student attendance is optional but recommended. We will conduct a lottery to select the class participants. Lassiter will also be offering an overflow course at a discounted rate for those students not selected to participate in the lottery class.

Progress reports are now available for viewing on ParentVUE/StudentVUE. Please note, we will not be printing progress reports. When parents or students log into PVUE or SVUE, they will see a link for Report Card. Parents and students must click the grading period, GP2, for 2nd six weeks. The student's schedule will show, listing the teachers’ names, the posted grades for the selected grading period, student's conduct, and comments (when added by teachers). A PDF is available. See the illustration below.

Shoe Drive Fundraiser

Lassiter’s Interact Club is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser from October 15 through January 14 to raise funds for hurricane relief efforts. They are partnering with Funds2Orgs, who will pay for pairs of gently worn, used, and new shoes. You can show your support for the victims of recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico by bringing your shoe donations to the Skylight area of Lassiter High School. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

First Semester Exam Information

First semester exams begin on Friday, December 15 and run through Wednesday, December 20. We will give students comprehensive final examinations covering the curriculum of each course in which they are enrolled this semester. Georgia Parent Survey

The Georgia parent survey contains 24 questions and is a great resource for our local administration, as well as the district central office, to gain key insight from the parents and guardians of our students. Please take a moment to complete the parent survey. The responses are anonymous, and we will use the data in future school-wide planning. Thank you in advance for your input.
