A total of twelve Lassiter High School senior student athletes signed national letters of intent with premier universities including Wake Forest University, Kennesaw State University, and Berry College. The day’s signees committed to playing football, soccer, baseball, and swimming.
Lassiter Athletics Director Scott Kelly commented, “We are so proud that this many of our student athletes have the opportunity to further their education and continue to work hard to perfect their craft.”
Four Lassiter students will be playing football including all-county defensive players Tyriq Hardimon at Wake Forest University and Kyle Syvarth at Charleston Southern University. Mason Waters and Zachary Kirshner will be playing football at Faulkner University and Berry College, respectively.
The 2016 GHSA class AAAAAA state championship soccer team is proudly sending Mackenzie Brennan to the University of North Georgia, Kelsey Hahn to Kennesaw State University, and Miranda Sampson to Young Harris College.
Two swimmers will be representing Lassiter next year. Parag Kalay is attending Occidental College, and Anna Lofton is attending Keiser University.
The baseball team is adding to a growing list of signees with Jacob Hester planning to attend Mercer University, Zachary Huie to Berry College, and Justin Lavendar at Sewanee: The University of the South.
These students have a combined 3.78 GPA proving their commitment not only to their sports but also their academics.
