ASVAB Testing

The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a career planning and exploration program that combines a multiple-aptitude test with an interest in self-assessment and a wide range of career exploration tools. The test is free to all participating students. There is no obligation for taking the test battery. The test will be on October 14 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in room 715. Juniors and seniors interested in participating should contact CAPT Wilkerson in the NJROTC classroom or their counselor.

National Merit Semi-Finalists

Five seniors from Lassiter High School have received the title of National Merit Semi-Finalists. Luke Bentley, Nicholas Loprinzo, Lacey Moss, Bailey Peacock, and Bryan Wang were among 16,000 of the top scorers of the PSAT in October 2014. We are very proud of you!

Veterans Day Concert

On Wednesday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m., the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus will be performing a free concert in the Lassiter Concert Hall. Please check out our poster for more information and take a look at the flyer to learn how to reserve tickets.

Earn Free Money and Supplies for LHS!

You can help our school earn free money and supplies just by shopping! LHS is partnering with the community rewards programs at Target, Kroger, and Coca Cola. The rewards we earn just by buying our favorite products will go toward purchasing things like sports equipment and necessary classroom supplies. Please view the flyer for more details on how you can participate in this fun and easy fundraiser!

Earning Credit Through Demonstrating Subject Area Competency (Testing Out)

As of February 24, 2015, the Cobb County School District has made the following announcement:

In response to the state’s recent announcement that local systems could decide whether to offer test out or not, Cobb has decided that we will not offer the test out option this spring since we will not have scores back until this fall to inform necessary placement decisions. We will re-evaluate the option again in the fall and spring of next year. All questions should be directed to the office of assessment and personalized learning at the Cobb County School District website.

Beginning in the 2013-14 school year, students will have the option of testing out of a high school course. The deadlines to submit a registration form to the school counseling office are September 12, 2014, and February 27, 2015.

In order to test out, a student may participate in the administration of an End-of-Course Test prior to enrolling in and taking the course, and if he or she scores at the “exceeds” level on the state assessment, he or she will be awarded credit for that course.
